soooo im back from robotics. didn't win the leadership award (figures), but we got into elims! at least we won a few matches, we haven't done this well in years.

and.. somehow, i don't feel great? it just makes me think.. the circumstances aren't always great, but what is it that others are doing that I'm not? am i just not working as hard as i should? ranking high is still really good, and i feel like I'm trying my best.. but could i try harder? it was still a great competition and i met some awesome people, i don't regret what i was able to accomplish.

enough of that, i don't really have time to complain, haha. that's just a little peer into the citrus mindset as of now. i'll work harder this year! trying to get back into the swing of drawing, maybe i'll post something soon

hi guys!! it's been a while (one whole month isn't that long lol).

sooo. some Updates.. i ended up getting 7th place for my animatronic project as a finalist!! pretty good for something i had never done before. it had 3 arduinos inside (one for an LCD screen, one for an MP3 player and speaker system along with a button module, and one for the servo driver) and tons of other fun stuff. the interview process was a lot less rigorous than i imagined. next year, i'm going for top 5! i might as well run for a club position while i'm at it, right? haha, i know i'll be eating my words by the time i'm swamped with stuff to do again..

i still have 2 more robotics competitions to go to. updates on those soon.. hoping to get into finals. championship would be so cool if we qualified! i have an interview during my second event for the leadership award i was nominated for. i have high hopes that I'll be able to keep cool during it! it's gonna be lots of fun. they also might play my animation at one of the competitions, which is so much fun. i gotta fix it up a little before next week! eep! speaking of which, i'm gonna aim for a winning animation next year. i want to create something that i'll be truly proud of, like my animatronic. i think that with more practice, i could do it.

last year (and the beginning of this one) was a ton of "first times". first time animating, first time building an animatronic, first time presenting a project all on my own, first leadership position, first real competition.. i could go on. this year is all about polishing those things i did for the first time last year. does that make sense? I've only got one more shot at all of these extracurriculars because i'm graduating next year. then it's off to new projects and college stuff! when i encounter something that i have No idea how to do, i very foolishly throw myself directly at it. if someone else can master it, why can't i? what's gonna stop me, anyway? i'm very lucky to have the resources and help that i do!

anyway, that's enough word vomit for today.

so, i've had a crazy beginning of the year. i got a leadership award at my robotics club (big win), i'm leading an animatronic project that i'll be presenting soon, and i'm learning so much about engineering. things look to be going great, right?

i just don't really know how to feel. half of my family shamed me for the award and i've been working on this project non-stop for the past 2-3 months. i've had no time to breathe or read or draw or anything. i have to travel a bunch after next week. i just hope i can keep up, this is all so overwhelming. i don't really have time to do things for myself anymore, and i really miss drawing for fun. i wanna end this blogpost positively, but this just makes me worry about what it'll be like when i'm an adult.. will i be This busy all the time? will i be able to handle it?

i always forget this place has several forums. one time, i accidentally asked for art advice in the animation forum and FREAKED OUT. to be fair, I'm very new to forums! i then realized you can't DELETE FORUM POSTS! so i quickly edited it to something animation related, just to cover my tracks. i guess now that i'm posting about it, it's not really a secret anymore..

i wish i used the forums more often, but it's like someone wipes my memory every time i remember they exist. i think the community on here is much cooler + nicer than the art communities on other websites. i avoided newgrounds for a while because everyone told me it was for edgelords + edgelords ONLY. i thought everyone would hate me on here, but that never happened. i get to see cool art + awesome creators + my art isn't instantly dumped into an AI sludge machine by its creators. I'll try my best to check the forums more often.

i swear this isn't the first time this happens. i won't question it much, i think its a nice color. pink tankman when?

i like scouting other artists. i think its a lot of fun. i understand newgrounds is a much smaller website than most popular art sharing websites, so people don't take it as seriously a lot of the time..

but PLEASE make sure to read how the rating system works before you post your art. i have A and M blocked while i'm looking for new artists to scout and i Still find explicit art (and i mean the Really explicit stuff) marked as E. i report them when i can, but PLEASE make sure you mark these things correctly in the first place.. i don't want to see furry balls anymore.

might be going to a con this year. i don't know if i wanna do a homestuck character (id normally go as john but IDK!) OR carl grimes from twd. one easier than the other, but the other is gonna match my friend's cosplay. who knows!

i've never gotten votes on a drawing so fast.. i wonder what i'd get if i made a few more teto drawings + some vocaloid drawings !! i guess we'll have to wait and see!

in puerto rico, the christmas season lasts until mid-january. look, i get that the USA doesn't have three kings day. but they could've altleast made up a silly holiday to get them through january! what are americans supposed to do during january, look out into the cold abyss and cry?

this one isnt really cutting it. i love birthday chinchilla but maybe i should draw something that matches my username better. bluh. i dont know. i feel like im doing everything wrong on here all of the time x_x i am trying my best
